So at the kickoff of the New Year in my first post of 2015 I solicited feedback on ways that I could improve the content of what I had hoped would be a source of inspiration for you the readers. And I did get feedback that I am currently considering. One suggestion that I received is that the postings have way too much content and should be more to the point. I have to admit blogging is something new for me and I didn’t really follow any guidelines. I didn’t do any research on the topic or focus on SEO (Search Engine Optimization) techniques or Google analytics for that matter I just wrote from the heart on a topic that I have had a lifelong passion for, which may or may not be reflected in the quality of the content.
After receiving the feedback about the length of the postings, for the first time I did actually take a look at the Google analytics for my blog and interestingly enough my SEO results were not impressive, one reason suggested that many of my postings fail to deliver at least a minimum recommended 300 word count. Additionally my top five most read posts seem to actually be my most wordy or content rich posts. So what follows is the plan because I’m not quite sure which approach to take and since I do value the feedback coming from actual comments that I personally receive this is what I have decided. I so enjoyed writing my previous post about how mood boards are a great tool for defining your design aesthetic to create rooms that you absolutely love that I posted an abbreviated version of the content to be more to the point but I continued to write on this topic and expanded the content to include:
• A game plan to save you time on executing your residential design projects
• Tips to save you money by helping you to avoid costly mistakes
• Tips for creating spaces which will result in you living in a home you absolutely love
• Links to product sources that will add layers of interest to your home and more…
I put together this expanded resource in an e-book format entitled, From House to Home: Tips of the Trade for Creating a Home You Love that is available to anyone who appreciates more content rather than less. A free copy is available to anyone who signs up for the monthly newsletter for the entire month of March. Based on the response, which I’ll compare with my monthly count of unique visitor statistics, I will allow the majority to rule and will adjust my future content accordingly. Since this has been such a taxing decision to make I will announce the results by April 15th. I’m a firm believer that actions speak louder than words so I’ll leave things in your hands to ensure I’m providing the level of content to meet your needs.
